women who brunch in saris
Kalighat Painting, 1930, V&A Museum.
at The Fifth Avenue Hotel
Do you adore saris and a good adda?
Are you looking for an excuse to wear your grandmother’s heritage Jamdani?
Or would you like a chance to win a sari during our Sari Trivia?
Then join us for an intimate gathering of sari lovers and meet fellow women who are just as gaga about the six yard cloth.
We will gather at Cafe Carmellini in The Fifth Avenue Hotel and sit down to a sumptuous two course brunch. We’ll start off with a fun Sari Trivia where you’ll have the chance to win a Bangladeshi handwoven sari.
Next we’ll unpack what the sari means to each of us and what its future holds for all of us.
The space was designed by the maximalist Martin Brudenski to evoke an old world charm, and it will transport you right back to the Jazz Age when Maharanis were rocking Europe in their chiffon saris.
So wring out your best sari for an afternoon of conversations, humor and female bonding.
